Sekinchan road trip

Hello bloggie, you've been missed! Gonna blog about my short trip to Sekinchan about a month ago. Came across this place while I was browsing the Internet for some road trip place near KL.

Brought small koala out with us!

It was a spontaneous plan as the boy decided to surprise me on my birthday by taking the day off to accompany me. :D The initial plan was to have a full day trip to either Sekinchan or Bukit Tinggi. Opted for Sekinchan as I have been to Bukit Tinggi with my family and there was nothing much there.

Was already 6pm when we reach there as we took off quite late (cos I wanted to catch Maleficent at the cinema :p). Thank god the weather on that day was good and we had about 1.5 hours of sunlight to take some nice picture.

Our first stop was of course the paddy field. So much serenity looking at this big field of paddy. Lucky us cos it was the mature period before harvest and we get to see the golden yellow paddy field. Drove passed this bicycle rental shop which reminds me of Taiwan. It would be nice if we could rent a bicycle and ride around the paddy field but we didn't have enough time for that.

Close up of the paddy grain.

Personally think that this is a nice photo shooting spot if you are a nature loving person. Came across this blog with nice wedding picture taken here too.

If only there was someone there to take picture for us. Stayed there for about half an hour and proceeded to out next stop.

Calm village after the busy morning.

Stopped by the fishing village which is on the left side of the main road leading to Sekinchan. Could probably get to buy some fresh and cheap seafood here if you come early.

Last stop for the day was Redang Beach. Found out that this was the place where Hong Kong TVB series, Out Bound Love was filmed. There are a few tree houses along the beach built by the locals which are made of some reusable items. Up in the tree houses, you could rest and chill on the hammock made from the fishing nets.

Swings made from fishing rods and plastic chairs.

Rojak with generous amount of fruits.

Sunset by the beach.

Realise there is no picture of the beach? To be honest, the beach was full of litter and the sea was kind of polluted. However, it is still a good place to hang around in the evening as you get to enjoy some sea breeze instead of the polluted air in the city.

"I love Sekinchan" sign in Mandarin.

Didn't know which restaurant to go to as there were so many seafood restaurant around the area. Being a typical Malaysian, we ended up in this restaurant which was almost full house as we assumed that the food must be good to have the amount of people.

Dinner for two.

Apparently shark meat  is their house speciality and it happen to be one of my favourite fish hence we ordered this sour shark meat soup. Had kam heong lala and salted egg squid as well. The food was really fresh and to our surprise the bill summed up to RM38 only! Can never get such fresh and cheap seafood in KL.

Just when I was feeling contented and thought that our day was about to end, the boy handed me a little blue box that I has been wanting for a very long time. Didn't expect that as I was told to go on a shopping with him after my exam to shop for my present. Not to mention that I was really surprised to have two surprises in a day from the noob koala who never know how to surprise me.

Thanks for giving me such a happy and unforgettable Birthday. :')
